Entrepreneurship

In Social Studies we have been working on Future planning and looking into career pathways for students. Our latest unit has directed the class to look into understanding what and how to become an entrepreneur. The class has looked at the characteristics of an entrepreneur and the steps and marketing strategies other individuals have used to develop million dollar businesses around the world. Our goal as a class for next week is to look at developing an idea into a reality, I look forward to updating you all on the classes progress.

 Social Studies

In Social Studies we have been looking deeply into understanding what an entrepreneur is, and how a thought can become reality. Students have taken to this unit with open arms and are completing the first steps required for their business plan. What I would like to accomplish out of this unit is for students to understand, there are lots of creative ways to make money part-time with a little effort and imagination of individuals. And that if they hit a tough spot or a rock wall we can always find a way around or through it.

1.Students will explore business ideas, and learn more about heir own interests and abilities.
2. Students will gain a better understanding of their own future employment opportunities.

Our goal at the end of this unit is to share our learning via individual blogs.

Future Planning

We are engaged in ‘financial thinking’ daily, looking at spending opportunities and thinking about the money we have or do not have to make such purchases.  But what does it mean to be financially responsible when we look at financial choices? The purpose of this unit is to explore the idea of what it means to be ‘financially responsible’. This investigation allows 10R to look at their chosen profession and subjects or entry requirements into their dream job.  Students example: Not completed yet.
